NoteNest lets you create and manage site-aware sticky notes (per-website or global). Notes can be written in the extension or saved from selected text on a page via the "Save selection as note" context menu. All data is stored in your browser; the extension does not send your data to any external servers.
We do not collect personal data (no name, email, or account). The extension does not use analytics, tracking, or third-party APIs. Any "website content" we handle is limited to:
We do not automatically read or collect other page content.
Notes: Note text, color, which site they're tied to (domain only, e.g. "github.com"), and timestamps. Stored in Chrome's sync storage so they can sync across your Chrome browsers when you're signed into the same Google account. Sync is done by Chrome/Google; we do not receive or store this data on our own servers.
Display preferences: Font size, font style, and popup height. Stored only locally in Chrome storage on the device you're using.
The extension reads the URL of the tab you're viewing only when you open the popup or use "Save selection as note." We use only the hostname (e.g. "example.com") to associate notes with the right site. We do not log or store a history of sites you visit.
We do not sell or share your data with third parties. We do not use your data for anything other than providing and syncing your notes. We do not use your data for advertising, creditworthiness, or lending.
Note content only leaves your device when: (1) you use Chrome sync (data goes to Google's sync service, per Chrome's policies), or (2) you use the Export button, which saves a file to your own computer.
We do not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children.
We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the extension after changes means you accept the updated policy.
